Abstract

The Role of the Church as a Conscience of the Society.

Relativism of the contemporary world affects its moral dimension in all areas: personal and public. This can result in a profound crisis of society as a whole, because changing the fundamental principles and values on which the society was built shakes its stability on all levels. The church is therefore facing a major challenge: in the context of its isolation by the contemporary society it has to overcome all struggles to help the society not to follow the dangerous path that leads to social and even moral anarchy. This can be done by the church by taking a vital role in the dynamics of society, namely, to be the conscience of society. In this way the church always confronts the society in terms of her values and her actions, thus exposing the moral and social blockages.
