Peace: a Religious-Social Imperative in a Conflict-Prone World.
Peace remains a religious-social imperative in a world prone to conflict. The current global context prioritizes the effort to theorize peace from both religious and social perspectives. The present secular context constitutes more of a challenge to peace rather than a contributor to it. Problematizing peace inevitably involves the issue of conflict, explored across various levels: prophylaxis, prevention, management, and resolution—with an emphasis on the particularities of religious conflict, which encompasses both identity and underlying issues, these being essential to understanding the inherently conflictual nature of contemporary humanity.
