Abstract

In this paper the author aims to convince the reader that, by associating proselytism with other ‘isms’ and ‘sects,’ the outcomes can only be discrimination, intolerance and hatred. He also views proselytism in present day Romanian society from the position of a Christian religious minority, tracing back and evaluating some Romanian cultural-religious perceptions about the other. The author argues for religious pluralism, especially in the larger context of Romanian Christianity, emphasizing that in a free and secular State any discussion about proselytism is in fact irrelevant.
