Freedom as a fundamental concept of Human Rights from the perspective of victims of trafficking in human beings.
Respect for human rights and freedoms is the basis for the development of any democratic society and the rule of law. The phenomenon of trafficking in human beings endangers any democratic society, both in the forms in which it manifests itself and in the disastrous consequences it has in human, social, economic, legislative and other terms. The recovery and social reintegration of victims of trafficking in human beings is another aspect which is being pursued at both individual and societal level. Along with the healing of specific traumas that may occur as a result of the trafficking process, the psychological sense of freedom remains one of the desires for the full recovery of victims of trafficking.
The aim of this article is to present the consequences of this phenomenon on the victim as an individual, in particular on the degree of freedom he or she feels when the criminal proceedings have been finalized and the exploiters have been punished under criminal law.
