Learning and Unlearning in Theological Education.
The essay explores the dynamics of learning and unlearning in education, in general, and in theological education in particular. It brings them together in the context of the university. For the past 150 years, it has become clear for educators and theologians alike that knowledge and education should target the entire person, not only the intellect. If the student is to become wholesome, theological exposure would be necessary for the task. However, this involves both learning and unlearning, as the two are related and, yet, quite separate in the way they operate within the human mind and impact its development.
