The Role of Freedom of Expression in Contemporary Ecclesiology.
The believer is called a free man because his sins have been forgiven, because he has been redeemed and no longer lives in sin (he is not a slave of sin). He is free to live in obedience to God and to worship according to the standard left by God. In this sense, the question asked most often at the end of a church service is this: „Did you like it?”. In other words it would sound like this: ”did you enjoy it?” The implication behind the question is that the church service was supposed to make the person feel good. And if a church service makes you feel good, you like it, if it doesn’t make you feel good, you don’t like it. The problem with such an approach is that it is nowhere to be found in God’s Word. It is only found in the hearts and minds of those addicted to the sensory, to emotions. People judge everything, including the church services, according to how it makes them feel. The purpose of the church service is not to make people feel good.
