Abstract

Some thoughts on the relationship between Christian hope and the modern concept of human dignity.
In order to address the relationship between Christian faith and the modern concept of human dignity, we believe that we must begin by shedding light on the complexity inherent in the Romanian term nădejde. The Romanian language dictionary offers us in this regard a wide variety of approaches to elucidate the meaning of this lexeme. However, in our opinion, this lexical approach does nothing more than show us the religious depths of this word, which gives us the conviction that Christian hope should constitute the basis for the development of the meanings that the phrase human notion expresses as human rights.
