Valences of the theological concept of peace in the current social context.
Peace is a fundamental and perennial value of humanity. However, it is often lost, both the inner, spiritual one, and the one in society, from outside us. The contemporary world is faced with various problems related to peace, in many areas, without having clear benchmarks in this regard. Man is created with the purpose of deifying himself, of participating in the communion between the Persons of the Holy Trinity, through love and, through him, the entire creation. Man is the crown of creation, he is the connecting link between the created and the uncreated. Through his understanding of being created in the image of God, man is called to live in the service of God and his neighbor. This is manifested both in the religious sphere, in the Church and in the personal relationship with God, and in the social sphere, in his relationships and responsibilities towards others and towards society. This understanding of man as a servant being is not only a theological ideal, but has practical implications and relevance in contemporary society. In a world marked by individualism, selfishness and injustice, man’s call to be a servant being brings hope, balance, compassion and solidarity, leading creation towards its goal: deification through grace.
