Analysis and Interpretation of the Terms Ataraxia and Eirēnē as Expressions of Intrinsic and Extrinsic Peace.
This article explores the meanings and implications of the Greek terms ataraxia and eirēnē as expressions of inner and outer peace. The first part analyzes the concept of ataraxia, understood as a state of inner tranquility achieved through philosophical detachment, specific to Hellenistic thought. The second part focuses on eirēnē, defined as external peace, but also as a divine gift resulting from reconciliation and communion with the sacred. The study offers a comparative interpretation, highlighting the complementarity of these concepts in shaping an integrative vision of peace, both personal and communal.
